Democratic leadership is specializing in scolding, not solving. Every Trump initiative—from student visas to executive powers—becomes a target for sharp rhetoric, yet rarely do they roll out a coherent plan in response. Worse, recent headlines highlight Democrat-appointed judges refusing to jail a Rhode Island man accused of threatening to kill Donald Trump, Pam Bondi, and Stephen Miller. Instead of detention, he was released with an ankle monitor pending trial. Stories like this are proof positive that Democratic leaders are more interested in grandstanding than providing solutions. Loud speeches and courtroom leniency don’t build trust; they reinforce the image of a party that has nothing to offer.
Even the Democratic National Committee is leaning further into spectacle. Chair Ken Martin, speaking on MSNBC, openly suggested Democrats “shouldn’t play by the rules anymore” and floated the idea of shutting down the government over the deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, DC. It was a striking admission: abandon norms because you don’t like the current occupant of the White House. That may fire up the progressive (communist) base, but it hardly inspires confidence in ordinary voters. It projects recklessness, not responsibility, and underscores the point that the party has prioritized theater over tangible policy. For voters who expect leaders to provide solutions rather than just resistance and protest, this looks like a losing play.
Even when Democrats claim to offer solutions, they’re simply rebranding the problems they helped create. Congressman Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) talks about “cost disease” in healthcare, housing, and education—but those skyrocketing costs stem directly from Democratic policies under Joe Biden. Healthcare premiums climbed thanks to more regulation and fewer choices. Housing inflation worsened under crushing interest rates and federal spending sprees. Education costs ballooned while Democrats pushed student loan bailouts that rewarded debt instead of fixing tuition. These aren’t solutions—they’re compliance with the very socialist agenda that dug the hole. Meanwhile, union leaders like Randi Weingarten and Lee Saunders have walked away from DNC leadership, showing that even allies are fed up with empty rhetoric dressed up as reform.
The Democratic Party is intent on resistance, but is offering voters no constructive way forward. Instead of tackling problems head-on or putting practical solutions on the table, leadership defaults to caustic rhetoric, courtroom lawfare, and threats of government shutdowns. That is empty political theater masquerading as leadership. If Democrats want to be trusted again, they need more than words. They need a plan. They need to put substance ahead of sound bites and solutions ahead of slogans. Until then, they’re proving their critics right by kicking their own backsides while Trump grows stronger. As is written in Ephesians 5:6, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of thee things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” Electing bad-mouthers with no solutions has consequences, as we have seen.
