Reports that Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) is expanding its military footprint inside Syria with the regime’s awareness confirm what many already recognize. Whether the group is Hamas, PIJ, Hezbollah or any of their ideological cousins, they operate like interchangeable pieces on the same board. They are aligned, and the coordination between them is far deeper than most realize. Which is why even a determined negotiator like President Trump runs into the same brick wall. It doesn’t matter whether it’s with Syria’s Ahmed al-Sharaa or a New York’s Mamdani making excuses for Hamas. The attacks on Israel and America persist because the broader network behind them remains untouched with interchangeable assets.
The glue that binds them traditionally has run straight through Tehran. For over twenty years, Iran has funded, armed and trained the major Islamist terror factions across the region. Former Pennsylvania Congressman Kurt Weldon warned in 2005 that Iran had formed a coordinating hub called the “Committee of Nine,” which he said had been operational since 2003. Its purpose was simple and deadly: manage and support international terrorist operations. Weldon outlined how this structure worked with al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Ansar al Islam and others. Iran wasn’t just a sponsor. It was the central nervous system. And from that vantage point, radical Islam pushed its strategy across the globe through colonization, terrorism and political maneuvering.
This didn’t emerge in a vacuum. Back in 2007, The Daily Jot reported that Iran’s coordination efforts were being largely ignored. Yet Iran kept supplying Hezbollah, al Qaeda and Hamas while Gaza became a launching pad for rockets raining down on Israeli neighborhoods. At the same time, US authorities disrupted plots targeting Fort Dix and JFK Airport. Those plots weren’t random. They reflected a shared ideology and a rhythm of radicalization fed by outside support. Russia added to the instability by providing Iran with weapons and technology. All of this built a landscape where terror cells, state sponsors and geopolitical opportunists converged. The pattern was clear for anyone who chose to see it.
Documents from the 2007 Holy Land Foundation trial mapped out a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood plan calling for a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” aimed against America. “Moderate” groups would establish credibility, then more radical elements would take ground. Look to Dearborn, Minneapolis, New York City or even pockets of Texas and the outlines become obvious. Population leverage, cultural pressure and political activism form a steady pattern. Deliberate importation of Islamist immigrants facilitated by Democrats like Obama and Biden have accelerated the threat. Stronger action is needed, because pretending these efforts are isolated only feeds the peril. Jeremiah 51:14 says, “The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillars, and they shall lift up a shout against thee.” Pray and watch.
