Super Socialist Tuesday

Rank and file Democrats appear to have rejected Senator Bernie Sanders’ (D-VT) Democratic Socialism in contrast to Joe Biden’s odd positions and brain freezes during the Democratic Party’s Super Tuesday primaries. Biden, now being called “comeback kid” by the media, garnered some 453 delegates to Sanders’ 382. For those who watch these things, don’t get too comfortable with the results that would appear to scorn the new socialist direction of the Democratic Party. On issues like immigration, gun control, healthcare, national defense, abortion, the whole alphabet sex and gender identification, and foreign policy (Israel), there is little to no difference between Sanders and Biden. They are socialists.

Sanders, is just the only one among them honest enough to admit it. And that is why the Democratic leadership is so freaked out against him—he is exposing the true nature of the 21st Century Democratic Party. This party has embraced socialism and is serving as an antithesis to anything remotely conservative politically or socially. When people say that “all politicians are alike” they are speaking in very general terms. The more the Democratic Party embraces socialism, the bigger the chasm between what America has been and what the socialists want to make it. Overall, you have a choice here—go socialist or not. It may not be much of a choice, but if people vote for Democrats, they are likely voting for a socialist-oriented candidate.

To me, socialism means failure. It fails everywhere. It is a polite word for communism. Socialism leads to tyranny. But even more so, it leads to the destruction of the middle class, the economy, the ability of a nation to thrive. Socialism pulls people down, rather than providing a platform for opportunity. Think about it: socialism taxes everyone, redistributes the wealth, expands the government, and enriches those in power—all in the name of helping the poor, substantiating the rights of the “underserved,” and giving power to the people. It’s all a great and debilitating lie. There are no absolutes in politics, but it is a safe bet to equate socialism with the Democratic Party and its candidates. Look at the platforms.

People will say Christians shouldn’t be concerned with politics. In reality, we are to be salt and light, and as Romans 12:21 says, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” This is political and spiritual. If we were doing our jobs well, rather than the prosperity, self-indulgent, extra-biblical, emotional doctrines that are popular to increase attendance (and the offering plate), there would be no move toward socialism in this country. Our children would understand right from wrong. There would be discernment. The principles of loving our neighbors and doing onto others as we would want done onto ourselves would be coming from the heart, rather than turned into programs and mandated by the government. But these things are not foundational to modern church “missions,” hence we have events like Super Socialist Tuesday.
