Democratic Party leadership long has fought religion, but they have collectively and very publicly shown their true hearts in the wake of the Minnesota Catholic school shooting. Former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki lit the fuse by declaring, “prayer is not freaking enough” when kids were killed by an insane trans shooter. This is offensive those who believe in the power of petitioning Heaven in grief. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fired back, while Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom further demeaned prayer saying that those children were literally praying as they got shot at. This heresy is more than tone-deaf. It shows a political party an ideology willing to mock what’s sacred. But it’s even deeper.
There’s real hypocrisy at play. The same party that now mocks prayer leans on “thoughts and prayers” when tragedy makes headlines—until it doesn’t. Vice President JD Vance called Psaki’s remarks bizarre, reminding us: “How dare you attack people praying when kids are just killed praying?” Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, now DNI, called Psaki’s stance “anti-God sentiment,” noting her words mirror the same ideology that motivated the shooter. The Democrats that attacked people of faith for praying lays bare their true hears as families are still grieving the horror of the attack on their children. Mocking prayer is rebellion against the very One who holds life and death in His hands.
As Franklin Graham said, “God does see, God does hear, and God can intervene.” He reminded critics that prayer isn’t some hollow ritual, it’s a direct line to Heaven. Graham essentially said that people discouraging prayer are doing Satan’s work, “We need to call on His name, ask for His help, and not be ashamed of prayer….Yes, we pray, and I will continue to encourage people to pray. Satan would like nothing better than to thwart the most vital tool God has given us—prayer.” Catholic Bishop Robert Barron called the dismissal of prayer asinine and said that praying doesn’t shield from suffering—it connects us with God in pain. Mocking prayer is not leadership. It’s doing the devil’s work and perfecting the dark art of cultural vandalism.
Trashing how millions communicate in their relationship with God is the mouth speaking from the abundance of dark hearts. That’s truly revealing. Galatians 6:7 reminds us, “Do not be deceived: God will not be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” When they mock God, they sow contempt—and that harvest isn’t pretty. Prayer doesn’t excuse inaction, nor does action excuse dismissing the divine. A nation without prayer is spiritually bankrupt. The Democratic Party talking points have crossed the line to offensive sacrilege. And their harvest? A divided, distrustful country where they characterize faith as a political liability, not a common lifeline. Much of what the Democrats say and do these days is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. But they cross the line when they mock God. Look at how they lead and fruit of their work and it is evidence of godlessness.
