Standing triumphant on a foundation of lies

From before the 2016 election, the Democratic Party has conspired to make contingency plans to remove President Trump from office if by some outside chance he was elected. Today, Democrats in the House of Representatives are voting on the most political statement of this century—removing a president from office because they just don’t agree with him. Chris Wallace asked during the last presidential debate if Trump would accept the results of the election and he responded, “I will keep you in suspense.” Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton launched an attack on Trump saying his response was “horrifying,” and “a direct threat to our democracy.” Who hasn’t accepted the election results?

For over three years, Americans repeatedly have heard how this president treated women with disdain, had prostitutes in Moscow, was in collusion with the Russians, strong-armed the Ukrainian president, and when all that didn’t work, he narrative now is that he has now abused his power and obstructed Congress. The news media has refused to report the facts that the Democratic Party, led by the immediate past president and Clinton, paid for and implemented an insurance policy against a Trump presidency. It took the shape of a deep-state fabricated false dossier about Russian collusion and immoral acts that was used to justify spying on president-elect Trump and launched a movement to remove him from office—a political coup. Who is practicing abuse of power and obstruction?

Now today, the Democratic Party leadership has taken the most drastic step telling Americans and the rest of the world that they do not accept the results of the 2016 elections—the very thing they accused Trump of “thinking,” which would, they said, be “horrifying” and “a direct threat to our democracy.” Indeed, even the news media believes Trump is a direct threat to the Constitution’s First Amendment because he said fake news was the enemy of the people. The media is in lock step with the Democratic Party in advancing the narrative that Trump is the threat to freedom and democracy. All the while, both this leftist political party and the leftist news media are actually doing what they accuse of Trump.

The threat to the American Republic (what the left insists is a democracy) and freedom of speech is the “post-truth” world where lies are allowed to stand, where there is no statesmanship or leadership on behalf of truth and fairness. Anything can be passed off as fact or truth, and if one contests it, he is labeled an enemy or worse. We have seen it over and over and over again. Today’s impeachment vote is just another rung on this endless ladder to tyranny. It is a travesty because this conspiracy to remove Trump from office began before he was elected. As is written in Isaiah 59:15, “So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.” It is not just Trump who is prey, it is all who oppose these evildoers. But I would rather be prey because of standing for what is right, than stand triumphant on a foundation of lies.
