As a journalist for a major newswire service in 1979, I began covering Iran as part of my coverage on the Carter Administration and 1980 Presidential election. In the 1980s, my Iranian education continued as a staffer for two Congressmen on the Foreign Affairs Middle East Subcommittee. In the past two decades, I have written over 1,000 stories and commentaries about Iran, its nuclear weapons program, its place in prophecy and how its actions move the prophecy clock forward. Since 2006, I have been sounding the alarm about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and how the UN International Atomic Energy Agency was inept in preventing them. Israel is now doing what should have been done a decade ago.
All along there have been bad actors aiding abetting Iran in its quest for a nuclear bomb. As early as January 2006, Russian, Iranian and Chinese scientists were working in underground labs to build a missile capable of reaching Europe and carrying a nuclear-sized payload. At the time, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met in Syria with Palestinian terrorist groups Islamic Jihad, Hamas and Hezbollah, said that it was his uncompromising support for the Palestinian resistance that has caused western nations to come against, what he called, Iran’s undeniable right to peaceful nuclear technology. This prompted the US to call for Iran to be referred to the UN Security Council, and support Russia’s efforts to control Iranian uranium enrichment as a diplomatic solution. Trusting Russia was a big misstep by George W Bush.
The cat and mouse game with Iran and its nuclear program went on for years with the IAEA, under the supervision of Mohamed ElBaradei, an Egyptian Islamist who was either inept or complicit in Iran’s quest. Summing up his sentiment with a December 2008 statement to the LA Times that the UN Policy toward preventing Iran from a nuclear arms program “has been a failure.” He also reiterated on several occasions, “I am not ready to jump to the conclusion and say this is a weapons program, unless I see clear cut proof that this is a weapons program. And we are not there yet.” ElBaradei would win a Nobel Peace Prize and remain as the “nuclear watchdog” through 2009. Enter Barack Obama, who destabilized the Middle East with his ill-fated Arab Spring initiative and in September 2016 sent Iran $1.7 BILLION in cash.
Donald Trump, in his first term, froze Iranian assets. Then Joe Biden unfroze them and sent another $30+ Billion, which was used to fund terrorism like the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Bush and Democrats Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden appeased Iran resulting in today’s situation. This evil, pure evil, launching missiles on Israeli citizens and Israel having to militarily try to end Iran’s nuclear program in order to survive. All through the years, Iran has been saying death to Israel, coordinating and sponsoring terrorism, while saying it wants nuclear for peaceful purposes. Enough. This evil must be destroyed just like its children Hamas and Hezbollah. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Ending Iran’s evil and deception is long overdue. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
