President Joe Biden will have a government-wide vaccine mandate. The Justice Department craftily wrote an opinion that the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the COVID vaccines does not make it illegal for the government and the business sector to mandate vaccinations. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky said that a European-style health pass mandate in the US “may very well be a path forward.” Tuesday, the CDC announced that vaccinated people should wear masks in indoor public areas. All this, when compared to a month ago, daily COVID infections per 100,000 have shot up from 9,685 to 80,701 and daily deaths per 100,000 have risen from 279 to 421.
Reality. “Breakthrough” cases of those being vaccinated yet becoming infected and/or dying appear to be on the rise. CDC reports there were 10,262 breakthrough cases from January 1-April 30, and it stopped counting such cases in May. These breakthrough cases may be important because they indicate vaccine effectiveness. While there is a rise in infections, the percentage of deaths due to COVID infections is currently about 1/3 of the average. This may indicate that the virus, even in its variants, is losing strength. Notwithstanding, people over 65 years of age are at most risk of contracting the virus and dying from it, according to the CDC statistics. Make informed choices—don’t let politics dictate your life decision.
Politics. Having said that, the Justice Department has interpreted section 564 of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to allow a vaccine mandate. DOJ stated, “This language in section 564 specifies only that certain information be provided to potential vaccine recipients and does not prohibit entities from imposing vaccination requirements.” In the same opinion, however, DOJ says, “Section 564 directs FDA—“to the extent practicable” given the emergency circumstances and “as the [agency] finds necessary or appropriate to protect the public health”—to impose “[a]ppropriate” conditions on each EUA. Some of these conditions are designed to ensure that recipients of the product “are informed” of certain things, including “the option to accept or refuse administration of the product.””
Agenda. DOJ is saying that the Act permits mandates because it doesn’t specifically prohibit them. WOW! This “opinion,” surely to be challenged, opens the door wide for a vast array of strong-armed tactics, such as nationwide government and/or corporate vaccine mandates, school mandates, and a vaccine passport. You may not be able to work without the vaccine. This appears like a forerunner to the beast system in Revelation. While under the guise of “science,” all this may defy not only the mathematics, but reality. Americans may be faced with the precedent of losing their freedoms over COVID, and once a precedent is set, it is difficult to undo. James 1:22 says, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Do not be deceived. Hear what the Lord is telling you. And do it.
