It’s taken nearly four years, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has finally admitted what many medical professionals, independent scientists, and everyday Americans have been saying all along: COVID-19 vaccination is a personal decision. The agency’s updated guidance removes the blanket recommendation for universal vaccination and instead places the mRNA shot in the “individual choice” category. Translation: you and your doctor decide if it’s right for you. This is an about-face from the narrative Americans were force-fed in 2021 and 2022 — that the shot was not only necessary, but that refusing it was a moral failure.
The same government that once demanded blind compliance is now quietly stepping back and handing that decision back to the individual. This pivot is not happening in a vacuum. Over the past several years, The Daily Jot has reported on dozens of studies showing that the mRNA vaccine’s efficacy wanes rapidly and that it does not prevent transmission. We’ve cited research documenting side effects like myocarditis, pericarditis, menstrual irregularities, abortions, and long-term immunity issues. Those of us questioning this horrible shot were vilified, censored, and in some cases lost their livelihoods. Government, media, and corporations worked hand in hand to coerce compliance, from “no jab, no job” mandates to travel restrictions and public shaming campaigns. It was an unprecedented assault on health autonomy, wrapped fear mongering.
The CDC’s new guidance is an implicit admission that those policies were misguided. If the vaccine were as safe, effective, and universally necessary as we were told, it would remain a standard recommendation for all. Instead, the agency now acknowledges what critics have long argued: risk varies by age, health status, and prior infection, and decisions must be tailored to the individual. That’s how medicine is supposed to work. But this reversal raises bigger questions: How many lives and careers were disrupted by policies that never should have been imposed? How many injuries or adverse reactions were dismissed as “rare” when they weren’t rare to those who experienced them? And the statistics are catching up.
This is a reckoning. The government’s credibility on public health took a massive hit — not because people refused to “follow the science,” but because officials refused to admit the limits of their knowledge. Mandates and censorship eroded trust far more than any skeptic could. The CDC’s retreat is a step in the right direction, but it is also a reminder of how easily science can be weaponized when paired with politics and fear. In the end, bodily autonomy isn’t a partisan slogan, it’s a fundamental right. And that’s a lesson America cannot afford to forget. As stated in Ephesians 5:6, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” This is one of those times in history where there were many words of deception and the consequences are ongoing.
