Joe Biden is exactly the type of politician and leader that this country doesn’t need and shouldn’t have. Despite destroying an excellent economy. Despite allowing an invasion across our borders of who knows what. Despite specific actions that has caused groceries and gasoline prices to soar to record levels of inflation. Despite paying lip service to Israel while sending billions to terrorists like Hamas, Iran, and the Palestinian Authority. Despite supporting, even promoting, the killing of the unborn. Despite characterizing patriotic Americans as extremists because they disagree with his horrible policies. This so-called leader of the free world denies the supreme power in declaring a day of Thanksgiving in America.
In his Thanksgiving Proclamation, Biden mentions God once—when he says the date: “twenty-second day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-three.” Yes, he says we should “be grateful for all the blessings of this Nation and its limitless possibilities.” He said the Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving in “honor of their first successful harvest and the support and generosity of the Wampanoag people who made it possible.” Joe, the Pilgrims were not celebrating in honor of the Native Americans. Their feast was in thanksgiving “by the goodness of God,” as Pilgrim father Edward Winslow writes in “Mourt’s Relation,” the only account of the first Thanksgiving, celebrated over three days after the harvest with “many of the Indians coming amongst us.” Joe, either you don’t know history or you’re lying about it—or both.
Joe recalls George Washington and his troops celebrating Thanksgiving and Abraham Lincoln proclaiming Thanksgiving a national holiday “to honor the blessings of our country.” Biden then shifts to placing giving thanks to mankind as he wrote “This week, Americans will gather with their loved ones and families, celebrating the love they share and the traditions they built together. To those who are also enduring hard times or grieving the loss of a loved one, know that we are thinking of you. We are truly a good Nation because we are a good people…This Thanksgiving we are grateful for our Nation and the incredible soul of America. May we all remember that we are the United States of America — there is nothing beyond our capacity if we do it together.”
Then Joe exhorts: “I encourage the people of the United States of America to join together and give thanks for the friends, neighbors, family members, and strangers who have supported each other over the past year in a reflection of goodwill and unity.” Where do blessings come from Joe? Surely as a good Catholic boy, you would know that all blessings are of God. To whom are we giving thanks, Joe? You? Thanksgiving is not about patting citizens on the back because they are good people (except those extreme Christians and conservatives) or because we are America. Thanksgiving is a Psalm 103:2 day, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” To not mention the blessings of God in relation to Thanksgiving is revealing to Biden’s lack of character and denial of the one true God. It’s dangerous and it’s, say it with me…Stupidocrisy.
