In his book “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel,” author and friend Bill Koenig draws the correlation that when the United States takes action to pressure Israel to divide her land major natural, economic or political disaster follows within 24-48 hours. He documents this phenomena over the last 30 years. It is irrefutable. When you consider what has happened in Israel in the Hamas attack and all the subsequent violence here in the US driven by hate for Jews and Israel, the actions of Joe Biden in trying to once again divide the land of Israel by restoring control of Gaza to the terrorist-backed Palestinian Authority may result in disastrous consequences.
In an Op-Ed for the Washington Post, Biden renewed the call for a “two-state” solution as the only answer to resolve the issue between Israel and “Palestinians.” He wrote: “As we strive for peace, Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited under a single governance structure, ultimately under a revitalized Palestinian Authority, as we all work toward a two-state solution.” Then Biden turned the table, pointing out that the US will not stand for violence against “Palestinians” in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) by Israeli settlers. He said, ““I have been emphatic with Israel’s leaders that extremist violence against Palestinians in the West Bank must stop and that those committing the violence must be held accountable,” adding the US will take its own steps against such “extremists attacking civilians in the West Bank.”
The statement did not remotely mention that Israeli settlers have the right to defend themselves against the attacks of “Palestinians.” Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded, vowing, “In Gaza, after the destruction of Hamas, and for a long time thereafter, there will not be a regime that encourages terror, that teaches terror, that funds terror — that also indoctrinates about the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews — this will not be.” The Palestinian Authority (PA) ran Gaza before Hamas took over. During that time (1994-2007), the PA oversaw ongoing missile attacks and instituted a “pay for slay” incentivizing terrorism against Israelis by providing pensions to terrorists killed in the act of killing Jews. This practice continues today as well as schools that educate children that Jews are pigs and encouraging hate.
God tells Abram in Genesis 12:2-3, “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall families of the earth be blessed.” And so throughout history those who blessed Israel were blessed and those who cursed Israel were cursed. This promise is one that can be traced throughout not only the texts of the Bible, but also through the texts of historical accounts written by many across the ages. From the empire of Babylon to the Roman Empire to Nazi Germany, those who blessed Israel and its people were blessed and those who cursed them were cursed. There may be tough times ahead as Biden pursues his relentless policies supporting terrorists while giving lip service to supporting Israel.
