Stupidocrisy: The unvarnished truth

After honoring those who were killed in the horrible racist attack in Buffalo and listing several schedule items at her first press briefing as White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre announced, “I am obviously acutely aware that my presence at this podium represents a few firsts. I am a Black, gay, immigrant woman, the first of all three of those to hold this position.” Criticizing such a person carries great risk, but Jean-Pierre represents exactly what is wrong with the Biden Administration. It’s not about your origin, race or gender, or sex life. It seems that everything in the media and Democratic Party politics these days is valued through a lens of agendas rather than truth, or even a level of competency.

First question: “Do you view your primary role here as speaking for the President and promoting his interests?  Or are you committed to providing the unvarnished truth to the American people so that they know what their government is doing on their behalf?” ANSWER FROM MS. JEAN-PIERRE: “I actually think that’s hand in hand.  I don’t think that there is any separation to that. As I said at the end of my opening here, the President believes in truth and transparency. That’s what he expects from us. Clearly, we are here to talk about his platform and what he is doing to deliver for the American people. But he wants to make sure we’re doing this in a transparent way, in a truthful way, and an honest way.” That she can say with a straight face that there is no separation between Biden promoting his interests and the unvarnished truth is astonishing.

Then she went on to hold the Administration’s political line in answering every question from continuing the myth that everyone should be vaccinated and boosted against COVID because it is safe and effective to trying to explain the failures of the Biden Administration on Russia, Ukraine, Baby Formula, gun control, inflation and more. In each answer was the political truth, not the unvarnished truth. Many times she had to refer to a briefing book to read the party line. The truth, as is seen by this entire Administration, is the political truth, a relative truth defined by dividing people and misrepresentation of facts to achieve a political goal. Sadly, this is what we all have come to expect. It is not in the best interest of the citizens.

An example of Jean-Pierre’s “unvarnished truth” was her answer when a reporter pressed her three times about Biden’s tweet: “You want to bring down inflation? Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.”  She stammered on about climate change and collective bargaining before she ended up with saying the president was talking about corporations paying their fair share. She couldn’t admit that raising taxes, raises costs, and raises inflation. Ahhh, but it’s their unvarnished truth that to cure inflation taxes should be raised. These people think using the law to justify their version of truth makes them free. Christ said in John 8:31-32, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Anything short of that unvarnished truth is…say it with me…Stupidocrisy.
