Some songs are written in an evening. Some take 47 years. I started writing Same Old Blue Feeling in 1978 when the woman I loved was gone and my heart was hurting. It was a song about heartbreak, loneliness, and longing. Then life happened. The song sat unfinished in a box for decades. In 2025, I came back to it, but this time life had changed the ending. Because love found its way home. Now the song carries both truths: the pain of separation and the joy of reunion. If you’ve ever loved someone deeply, you know that feeling. Even temporary absence can ache. That’s what this song is about. Same Old Blue Feeling is now live.
